Harvest Festivals

TL;DR

Festivals are scheduled bonus windows where a featured crop pays extra, with their own festival leaderboard. Check the live festival and standings with /festival. Manual harvesting only — same as everything else.

Harvest Festivals are the server’s seasonal celebrations — scheduled windows where farming a particular crop pays off big.

Bonus-crop windows

During a festival, a featured bonus crop takes the spotlight for the duration of the event. Lean your fields into that crop while the window is open to make the most of the bonus rewards. The festival runs its own leaderboard, so there’s a dedicated race to win within the event itself — separate from the main /top standings, and with its own recognition.

Run /festival to see:

  • The active festival and how long it has left.
  • The bonus crop for this window.
  • The festival leaderboard showing current standings.

Festivals typically coincide with seasonal themes — a mid-season DELIVERY_RUSH, FEATURED_RUSH, or GROWTH_SURGE window that the server’s event system schedules automatically. The in-game announcement will tell you the bonus crop when one begins.

Manual-harvest, as always

Like everything competitive in HarvestSeason, festival progress only counts from hand-harvesting. There’s no automation shortcut — you win a festival by out-farming everyone during the window. The same harvest events that move your season score also move the festival counter; the two races run in parallel over the same actions.

This design matters: festivals reward active, engaged players who show up for the window, not players who set up automation and go idle.

Scheduling

Festivals are scheduled recurring events. Keep an eye on in-game announcements and /season events to know when the next one is coming. The event schedule is worth checking at the start of each session — knowing a festival is 30 minutes away is enough time to pivot your planting to the bonus crop.

Some events are predictable (weekend events, mid-season milestones); others are triggered by the server’s SeasonEventManager. A few minutes spent checking /season events each day prevents you from farming the wrong crop during a high-value window.

How festivals fit the season

Festivals are one of the server’s five event types: FEATURED_RUSH, DELIVERY_RUSH, MYTHIC_BLOOM, and GROWTH_SURGE are the others. Each has a different focus:

  • FEATURED_RUSH — bonus payout on the current featured crop.
  • DELIVERY_RUSH — delivery quota rewards boosted.
  • MYTHIC_BLOOMMythic Crop drop chance elevated.
  • GROWTH_SURGE — crop growth rate accelerated.

A festival typically wraps around one or more of these mechanics, combining bonus incentives with the festival’s dedicated leaderboard.

Strategy & use-cases

Pre-plant the bonus crop the night before. Check /season events before logging off. If a festival is scheduled for the next morning, plant a full island of the bonus crop so it’s mature when the window opens. Walking into the first minutes of a festival with a ready farm versus planting from scratch is a significant head start.

Treat the festival leaderboard as a mini-season. The festival window is short; your full-season score doesn’t matter here, only what you harvest during the window. That means players who arrive prepared can leapfrog higher-ranked players on the festival board even if they’re far behind on /top. Focus on the festival crop, nothing else.

Combine with the AoE harvest upgrade for burst output. If you’ve purchased an AoE harvest radius from the shop, the festival window is the ideal time to use it. Sweeping through a dense island of the bonus crop in AoE mode maximises festival-count-per-minute. Each crop in the swing scores independently.

GROWTH_SURGE events pair with replanting cycles. If a GROWTH_SURGE is active (faster crop maturity), replanting immediately after each harvest harvest becomes more valuable — shorter wait between harvests means more harvest cycles in the same clock time. Stay on the island and keep replanting.

Common mistakes

  • Missing the window. Festival windows have a hard start and end. If you log in after it’s over, you won’t earn festival-leaderboard position for that run. Check /season events so you can plan your online time around upcoming festivals.
  • Farming a non-bonus crop during the window. Those harvests earn season score normally, but they don’t move your festival counter. Every minute not spent on the bonus crop during a festival window is a missed opportunity.
  • Forgetting /festival once the window starts. The festival leaderboard shows your current standing. If you’re close to a top placement, that information should be driving how aggressively you’re farming. Check it mid-window, not just at the start.

FAQ

What is a Harvest Festival?

A scheduled event window where a bonus crop is in focus, often with extra rewards and its own leaderboard. View it with /festival.

How do I do well in a festival?

Harvest the festival's bonus crop by hand during the window. Festival counts come from manual harvesting, same as everything else.

When do festivals happen?

They're scheduled recurring events. Watch in-game announcements and /season events for timing.

Does a festival affect the main season leaderboard?

Festival harvests count as normal harvests, so they earn season score as usual. The festival leaderboard is a separate ranking over the same action during the festival window.
