Island customization

TL;DR

Make your plot yours with /farm theme and /farm decor for looks, and /farm name to title your island. Farmland, water and height stay identical for everyone — customization is cosmetic only.

Two islands can look completely different while playing exactly the same. Customization is how you make your plot recognisably yours.

Themes and décor

  • /farm theme changes your island’s visual theme — the palette, block set, and overall aesthetic of the surface. Themes are cosmetic skins on top of the identical underlying layout.
  • /farm decor adds decorative touches around your plot: visual elements and flourishes that make the island feel lived-in and personal.

Both are cosmetic only. The functional parts of every island — farmland tiles, water channels, and ground height — are kept identical for everyone, enforced by a fairness check at the template level. Décor sits on top of that identical base; it can never alter the productive farmland beneath it.

This means a beautifully decorated island is not a more efficient one. The score from a harvest on your island is exactly the same as the score from the same crop on a bare, undecorated island. Customization is expression, not strategy.

Naming your island

Give your plot a name with /farm name <text>. The name is visible when other players visit your farm, in any island-showcasing features, and in the daily featured-farm spotlight.

Naming is a vanity sink — it costs a small amount of balance, which helps soak up surplus currency that would otherwise sit idle. It’s purely for show, but a well-named island with a recognisable identity is part of the social fabric of the server.

Island variants

Each island generates with a slight visual variant baked in — a decorative flavour derived from a hash of the plot. This means no two islands look completely identical even before any player customization. The variant affects décor and surface dressing only; farmland, water, and height are always equal. You can layer /farm theme and /farm decor on top of whatever variant your island generated with.

Visiting and social visibility

Your customizations are visible to anyone who visits your farm. A named, themed island with a personal aesthetic is your calling card in the farm-visiting social layer. When the daily featured farm spotlight selects your island, everyone in the hub can tour it — your décor and name are what they see.

Customization and estate expansion

As your estate expands through lifetime mastery milestones, your island physically grows — more surface to theme and decorate. Expansion and customization compound over time: a large, fully themed, named, decorated estate is the mark of a long-term dedicated player.

Strategy & use-cases

Name your island before you show it off. If your farm is public (via /farm public) and people are stopping by, a named island with a recognisable identity is more memorable. Think of it as branding for the leaderboard era when people visit the top players.

Use building packs from the shop. The shop’s Build category sells building packs and materials that complement /farm decor. Combining shop materials with the decorating commands unlocks more detailed layouts.

Don’t overspend on décor before tier unlocks. Building packs and cosmetic blocks cost balance. Early in the season, that balance is better spent on seed tier unlocks and upgrades. Decoration is a late-game activity when you’ve already secured your upgrade baseline.

Take advantage of the featured-farm spotlight. If your island is public and well-presented, it’s eligible for the daily featured pick. A spotlight visit puts your island in front of everyone on the server — a social reward that has nothing to do with the leaderboard.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting to set /farm public if you want visitors. By default farms may be private. If you want visitors or contest-style social play, run /farm public. /farm private locks it back.
  • Spending balance on décor before buying permanent upgrades. Décor is a late-game spend. Fortune, AoE Sweep, and Merchant’s Touch all compound across the entire season; décor is purely visual. Prioritise accordingly.

FAQ

How do I decorate my island?

Use /farm theme to change its visual theme and /farm decor for decorative touches. You can also name it with /farm name.

Does décor change how my farm plays?

No. Décor and themes are purely visual. The farmland, water layout and ground height are identical across all islands for fairness.

Is naming my island free?

Naming is a small vanity sink — it costs a little balance, as a money sink. It's purely for show.

Does customization reset at season end?

Islands are reset at season end, which removes the placed décor. Unlocked themes and named items may persist — check in-game; the functional layout starts fresh each season.
