Market demand vs Featured crop
Two weekly crops to watch. The Featured crop gives bonus SCORE when harvested; the Market demand crop gives bonus CASH when sold. Plant around both to maximise the week. Check /season or the hub board for the current picks.
Each week, two special crops shift the optimal play. They reward different halves of the economy, and the strongest players plan their fields around both.
The Featured crop → more score
The Featured crop carries a harvest score multiplier. Every mature unit you harvest by hand counts for more toward your season score than any other crop this week.
If you’re chasing the leaderboard, the Featured crop is where you want your fields. The multiplier is applied at the moment of harvest — meaning it stacks with your farming skill abilities and the AoE sweep (every crop caught in the sweep gets the multiplier too).
During season events
When a Featured Rush event is active, the Featured crop’s score multiplier is amplified further for the event’s duration. Events are announced in-game and via the sidebar. If a Featured Rush fires, drop everything and harvest every mature Featured crop you have — it’s the highest score-per- action window in the game.
The Market demand crop → more cash
The Market demand crop sells for a cash premium when you sell it. The premium applies on top of whatever other sell modifiers you have active (boosters, Master Farmer bonus). If you’re saving for a big shop purchase, lean into the Market crop this week.
The premium applies at the sell stage only — harvesting the Market crop earns normal score (unless it happens to also be the Featured crop, which would be a banner week).
Playing both
The strongest weeks come from doing both:
- Dedicate a section to the Featured crop for rank. Harvest it first in every session.
- Dedicate a section to the Market crop for cash. Sell it before it rotates off.
If your island can only hold one crop type this week (limited on seeds or space), Featured crop wins if you’re chasing rank, Market crop wins if you need a specific upgrade. Know your priority.
When they’re the same crop
Occasionally the Featured and Market crops line up as the same type. This is a high-value week: every harvest of that crop earns bonus score and every sale earns bonus cash simultaneously. Prioritise replanting immediately after each sweep — this is when a fully cycling field pays maximum dividends.
Finding the current picks
The current Featured and Market crops are displayed in several places:
- Run
/seasonfor full season status including current crop picks. - Check the hub leaderboard boards — crop picks are shown alongside standings.
- Your sidebar scoreboard shows the current Featured crop as a live display.
Both crops rotate on a weekly cadence. The transition happens on a set schedule; check the hub
board or /season events to see when the next rotation is coming. Replant the day before a
rotation if you want your field to be mature and ready when the new pick goes live.
Strategy & use-cases
- If you’re chasing top rank this week: fill as much of your field as possible with the Featured crop and harvest continuously. The score multiplier is the single most impactful source of rank gain available week-to-week — more so than any upgrade.
- If you just unlocked a new tier and need cash: swap a portion of your field to the Market demand crop and sell multiple batches to spread around diminishing returns. The premium compounds with sell boosters, so activate one before your big sell session.
- Planning around the rotation: check when the crops rotate. If there are only two days left in the week, planting a slow-growing crop for the current market pick is a bad investment — it may not mature in time. Favour fast-growing crops for short windows.
- The Featured Rush event signal: when a Featured Rush event fires, it’s a clear signal to stop selling and farming anything else. Harvest all your Featured crop immediately, then replant and harvest again if you have time before the event ends.
Common mistakes
- Ignoring both crops and farming what you already have planted. It’s an easy habit, but the weekly picks are the highest-leverage decision you can make. Even rotating a third of your field to the Featured or Market crop meaningfully changes your weekly outcome.
- Planting the Featured crop right before the weekly rotation. If the crop won’t mature before the week turns over, you’ll harvest it at normal score — the multiplier will be gone. Check the rotation timing before replanting.
- Selling the Featured crop instead of harvesting it. The Featured crop multiplier is a score bonus, awarded when you harvest. If you let someone else misguide you into treating it as a sell target, you’re leaving rank points unclaimed. Sell value is separate; the Featured crop’s real value is the harvest multiplier.
- Missing the “same week” overlap. When Featured and Market coincide, it’s rare and significant. Don’t miss it — reorganise your entire field around that one crop for the week.

FAQ
What's the difference between the featured crop and the market crop?
The Featured crop multiplies the season score you earn from harvesting it. The Market demand crop multiplies the balance you earn from selling it. One boosts rank, the other boosts spending money.
How often do they change?
They rotate on a weekly cadence. Check in-game boards or /season for the current picks.
Should I grow both?
If you can, yes — harvest the Featured crop for score and sell the Market crop for cash. They reward different parts of the loop.
Where do I find out what the current picks are?
Run /season, check the hub leaderboard boards, or look at your sidebar. The current Featured and Market crops are displayed in multiple places.
