Quests
/quests is an ordered onboarding checklist that walks you through the core loop and pays balance/score for each step. Your starter chest and welcome book point you to it. Things you've already done count automatically.
New to HarvestSeason? Quests are your guided tour — an ordered checklist that turns “what do I do now?” into a clear path through the core loop.
A guided checklist
Run /quests to open your onboarding checklist. It’s an ordered set of steps built from the things you’ll actually do in your first hours: claim your island, pick up your Harvester Tool, harvest your first crop, make your first sell, and begin exploring the shop and deeper systems. Each step tells you exactly what to do next, so you’re never left staring at a blank island wondering where to start.
Steps unlock in sequence, so the checklist functions as a natural tutorial — each completed step reveals the next, building your understanding of the gamemode one layer at a time.
Rewards as you go
Completing a step auto-awards rewards — balance and sometimes season score. The balance payouts from quests are front-loaded to give you a meaningful starting fund: enough to buy your first seed-tier upgrade or stock up on early crops before your income from selling kicks in. The occasional score award gives you an early foothold on the leaderboard while you’re still learning the systems.
Quests read your existing stats, so things you’ve already done count automatically when you open /quests. If you claimed your island and harvested a few crops before checking, those steps are already credited.
The core loop in miniature
Working through quests teaches you the exact loop the rest of the season is built on:
- Claim your island (
/farm) and plant seeds. - Harvest by hand using the Harvester Tool.
- Sell your crops (
/sell) to earn balance. - Spend balance in the shop on upgrades and seeds.
- Check daily systems — streaks, directives, deliveries, the pass.
Each step in the checklist is a smaller version of the seasonal rhythm you’ll repeat hundreds of times. By the time you’ve finished quests, the loop is muscle memory.
Where to begin
Your starter chest and welcome book both point you to /quests. If you’re ever unsure what to do, that’s the place to look — it’s always showing you the next concrete action.
Strategy & use-cases
Open /quests before your first sell. Quest steps that require selling automatically complete when you make your sell, so checking the list first lets you knock out multiple steps in a single action rather than realising after the fact that a step went uncredited.
Use quest balance rewards to fund your first tier unlock. Quest payouts are meaningful early-game; banking them toward the first seed-tier unlock in the shop gives you access to higher-value crops that compound your score-per-hour for the rest of the season.
Don’t skip the tool step. The Harvester Tool is how you earn score — quests will walk you to /tool to claim yours. Do this before your first big harvest session. Without the Harvester Tool, your harvesting is still valid but you miss the tool’s soulbound Fortune and crop-counter benefits.
Quests funnel directly into the Harvest Pass. The actions quests ask you to take — harvesting, selling, visiting the shop — also feed pass progress and directives. Every step is doing double or triple duty.
Common mistakes
- Ignoring quests after the first session. Players sometimes check quests on day one, get busy farming, and forget to claim rewards for steps they’ve since completed. Rewards accumulate unclaimed — open
/questsperiodically to collect them. - Trying to complete steps out of order. Quests are ordered; a later step won’t unlock until the earlier one is done. If you’re stuck, it’s almost always because a prior step hasn’t been claimed yet.
- Starting a fresh session without checking
/questsfirst. Because steps credit automatically from stats, you might have completed two or three without realising. A quick/questscheck at the start of each early-game session keeps you from leaving rewards sitting there.
