Seed tiers & unlocks
Crops are grouped into tiers. Unlock higher tiers in the shop as your Farming level rises, opening up more valuable crops to grow, score, and sell. Run /tiers to see what you've unlocked and what's next.
Not every crop is available from day one. Crops are organised into seed tiers that you unlock as you progress.
How tiers work
Each tier groups a set of crops. Higher tiers contain more valuable crops — better score per
harvest and better sell value at /sell — but they’re level-gated: you unlock a tier by
purchasing it in the shop once your Farming level is
high enough.
The tier system ties the whole progression loop together:
- Harvest to earn Farming XP and level up
- Meet the level requirement for the next tier
- Buy the tier unlock in the shop
- Plant and grow the new, higher-value crops
- Score faster and earn more balance per sell cycle
Every tier unlock is a real milestone: a wider crop menu, higher score ceilings, and better returns from the same amount of effort.
What “more valuable” means
A higher-tier crop yields more season score when you harvest it and more balance when you sell it. Score drives your leaderboard position; balance pays for further upgrades, seeds, and cosmetics. Getting onto higher tiers quickly is one of the main levers in early-season competition.
Checking your tiers
Run /tiers to see:
- Which tiers you’ve already unlocked
- Which are next and their Farming-level requirement
- A preview of the crops each tier opens
Keep /tiers open alongside /skill when you’re targeting a level threshold — it makes the path
concrete.
Buying tier unlocks
Go to the Seeds page of /shop to buy tier unlocks. The tier entry will be visible but locked
(with the required level shown in its lore) until you meet the threshold, so you always know how far
you are.
Remember: the shop sells no hoes. You can only harvest with your Harvester Tool,
which you get via /tool (one per player, soulbound).
Tiers reset each season
Because the Farming level resets at season end, your tier unlocks reset too — you must re-earn each level threshold and re-purchase each tier in the new season. This is by design: it means every season the race to the best crops is fair, and the player who levels fastest gets the best crops first.
Strategy & use-cases
Rush the first tier upgrade. The gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 crops is meaningful in both score and sell value. Spending the opening hours solely on leveling Farming so you can unlock Tier 2 early pays back quickly — every subsequent harvest is worth more.
Budget for tier unlocks before spending on cosmetics. Your balance pool is finite in the early game. Tier unlocks are direct score multipliers for the rest of the season; cosmetics and decorations can wait until you’re already on top-tier crops.
Don’t overlook mid-season tier pushes. Even if you’re behind on the leaderboard mid-season, reaching a new tier can change the trajectory. More valuable crops mean faster score accumulation, which closes gaps.
Stack the progression: aim to hit a level threshold, buy the tier, use a booster from the shop to push through the next threshold faster, and repeat. The loop is intentional — each piece feeds the next.
Common mistakes
- Unlocking a tier but not buying the seeds. The tier unlock just opens the door; you still need
to purchase the seeds for each crop in the new tier. Go back to the Seeds page of
/shop. - Spending balance on cosmetics before unlocking the next tier. Cosmetics are display-only; tier unlocks directly increase score and sell income. Prioritise tiers while you’re still climbing.
- Forgetting to re-unlock tiers at season start. The familiar crops from last season don’t carry
over. Check
/tiersat the start of every season and plan your first leveling session around it.

FAQ
How do I unlock new crops?
Buy the tier unlock in the shop once you meet its Farming-level requirement. Higher tiers open up more valuable crops to grow and sell.
How do I see which tiers I have?
Run /tiers to view your unlocked seed tiers and what's next.
Why is a tier locked in the shop?
Tiers are level-gated. The shop shows the Farming level you need; level up by harvesting and it unlocks.
Do tier unlocks carry over between seasons?
No — because the Farming level resets each season, you re-earn tier unlocks each reset. The level requirement must be met again in the new season.
