The Fabulously Optimized modpack
Fabulously Optimized is a one-click performance modpack that bundles Sodium, Lithium and a dozen other optimizations already tuned — the easiest way to dramatically boost FPS on HarvestSeason.
Fabulously Optimized (often shortened to FO) is a curated performance modpack for Fabric. Instead of installing a dozen mods by hand, you install one pack and get them all — already chosen to work together and tuned for sensible defaults. For most HarvestSeason players, this is the fastest route from “laggy” to “smooth.”
Fair play note: Fabulously Optimized contains only performance and visual mods, which are allowed and encouraged. It includes no cheats, x-ray, or automation. You are good to go.
What FO actually is
It is a collection of well-known, trusted optimization mods packaged together:
- Sodium — the renderer rewrite that does most of the FPS heavy lifting.
- Lithium — optimizes game logic and tick performance.
- FerriteCore — large memory savings.
- EntityCulling — skips rendering entities you cannot see.
- ImmediatelyFast — speeds up UI and text rendering.
- Iris — shader support layered on top of Sodium.
- Plus a set of smaller quality-of-life and bug-fix mods.
The value is that someone has already done the version-matching and compatibility testing for you. See essential performance mods for what each one does individually.
Why it’s a great one-click pack
- No mod hunting. One download instead of ten.
- Pre-tuned defaults that favor frames without looking ugly.
- Maintained — new releases follow each Minecraft version.
- Removable. It is just a Fabric instance; you can add or remove mods later if you want more control.
Installing via Prism Launcher (recommended)
If you use Prism Launcher, this is the cleanest path:
- In Prism, click Add Instance.
- Choose the Modrinth tab in the dialog.
- Search Fabulously Optimized.
- Select the version that matches the server’s Minecraft version (shown on the HarvestSeason website). This is the critical step — the pack version must equal the server version.
- Confirm, let Prism download everything, then Launch.
Prism handles the Fabric loader, Fabric API, and all the mods for you.
Installing via the Modrinth App
Prefer a dedicated modpack manager?
- Download the Modrinth App from modrinth.com/app.
- Sign in with your Microsoft (premium) account — HarvestSeason is online-mode.
- Search Fabulously Optimized, pick the version matching the server, and install.
- Click Play.
Both launchers are free and both work well. Use whichever you already have.
First-launch checklist
After it loads for the first time:
- Set RAM. In Prism: Edit → Settings → Override memory → ~4096 MB. In Modrinth App: the pack’s settings → Memory. Do not over-allocate; see allocating RAM correctly.
- Apply video settings. Render distance 8–12, simulation distance 6–8, Graphics Fast. See the best video settings.
- Add the server from the website IP under Multiplayer → Add Server.
Tuning FO for HarvestSeason
The defaults are good, but you play a specific way — looking down at a dense crop field — so a few tweaks help:
| Setting | Suggestion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Render distance | 8–12 | You rarely need to see far on your island |
| Simulation distance | 6–8 | Plenty for crop growth ticks |
| Graphics | Fast | Smoothest |
| Entity distance | Low | Few entities matter while farming |
| Particles | Decreased | Less visual clutter, more frames |
| Biome blend | Off or 5×5 | Surprisingly costly on some systems |
FO uses Sodium’s video settings menu, which is more detailed than vanilla’s — explore it; every option has a clear label.
Adding shaders
FO bundles Iris, so shaders are easy:
- Download a shader pack (Complementary and BSL are popular, lightweight-friendly choices).
- In game, open Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs, drop the file into the folder Iris opens, and select it.
- Start on a Low/Medium preset. See shaders without wrecking your FPS for which settings to dial back.
If frames drop too far, turn shaders off — they are the heaviest single visual cost.
Adding or removing mods
FO is fully editable. To add a mod (say, a simple minimap):
- In Prism: Edit → Mods → Download mods, and add it (matching your MC version).
- In the Modrinth App: open the instance and add content.
Remember the minimap rule: simple minimaps are fine, but no entity radar or cave/x-ray reveal features. Keep added mods on the allowed side.
Troubleshooting
- Won’t connect / version error: the pack version does not match the server. Install the correct version.
- Crash on launch: rare with a clean FO install; usually caused by a mod you added. Remove your additions and test.
- Still low FPS: lower render distance to 8, set Graphics to Fast, disable shaders, plug in your laptop. See improve your FPS.

FAQ
Is Fabulously Optimized allowed on HarvestSeason?
Yes. It is a pure performance and visual pack — Sodium, Lithium, and similar. None of its contents are cheats, so it is fully allowed.
Does it include shaders?
It bundles Iris, which supports shaders. You add the shader pack yourself and toggle it on. Keep presets light for the best frames.
Will it work with the server version?
Fabulously Optimized releases for each Minecraft version. Install the version that matches the server, shown on the website.
Do I need Fabric API separately?
No. The pack includes everything it needs, including the Fabric loader pieces. Just install the pack on the correct version.
