The featured crop is a rotating crop that carries a score multiplier. Harvesting it is worth more score per plant than anything else in the game. If you internalise one strategic idea from this whole wiki, make it this: point your harvesting at the featured crop.

Why featured is the top priority

Score comes only from harvesting, and the featured multiplier raises the score of every mature featured plant you cut. Combine that with your AoE Sweep — which scores every crop in the swing — and a full swept field of the featured crop is the single highest score-per-swing play available. Nothing else stacks multipliers like it: the Sweep multiplies how many crops you score per swing, the featured multiplier raises how much each is worth, and a Featured Rush event pushes the multiplier higher still.

Plan around the rotation

The featured crop rotates, so this is a planning game, not a one-time setup. Check /season for the current featured crop and what’s coming. Your aim is to have a full, mature field of the featured crop ready exactly when the multiplier is live — not scrambling to plant it after the fact.

• Know the current pick. Plant your plot toward the featured crop so your standard harvest loop is already riding the multiplier.
• Anticipate the switch. When the rotation is about to change, start staging the next featured crop so it’s maturing toward readiness as the switch lands.
• Mind the tier gate. If an upcoming featured crop sits in a seed tier you haven’t unlocked, unlock it before the rotation hits so you can plant a full featured field on day one of the multiplier.

Prepping the plot for the switch

The transition between featured crops is where you win or lose tempo. The goal is zero downtime between one featured field and the next.

1. Harvest out the current featured field as the rotation winds down — don’t leave mature crops uncut when the multiplier expires.
2. Replant straight into the next featured crop. With Green Thumb you replant automatically, so convert your replant to the new crop as the switch approaches; manually, replant the cleared strips with the incoming featured seed.
3. Plant in maturity waves so the new featured field ripens together and your first post-switch harvest is a full clean sweep, not a half-grown patch. See efficient farm layouts.
4. Stage a Growth booster if you need the new field to mature faster to catch the live multiplier window.

Stacking Featured Rush

A Featured Rush event boosts the featured crop’s multiplier even further during its window. This is your highest score-per-swing opportunity of the season — treat it like a scheduled sprint:

• Have a full mature featured field staged before the Rush starts. A Rush spent watching crops grow is a Rush wasted. Time your plantings so the field peaks as the window opens.
• Layer every boost you have. Fire Green Terra (Farming skill timed boost) inside the Rush window, and run any active boosters. Stacking the Rush multiplier, Green Terra, and a full AoE Sweep over a packed featured field is the single biggest score burst the game allows.
• Don’t sell during the Rush. Every second should be a swing. Sell the surplus afterward, varying crops to dodge diminishing returns.

Common mistakes

• Ignoring featured and farming “whatever’s planted.” You’re leaving the biggest multiplier in the game on the table. Steer your loop toward the featured crop.
• Planting the featured crop after the Rush starts. It won’t be mature in time. Stage it ahead.
• Letting a featured field sit unharvested when the rotation switches. Those multiplied crops expire with the rotation — cut them while they still carry the multiplier.
• Selling during a Rush. Selling earns balance, not score, and the Rush only multiplies score. Swing now, sell later.
• Forgetting the tier gate. An upcoming featured crop in a locked tier means a missed multiplier. Unlock ahead of the rotation.
