How to connect to the server

TL;DR

Grab the live IP and required version from playharvestseason.com, match your Java Edition launcher to that version, add the server in Multiplayer, and join — you'll need a genuine (premium) Minecraft account because the server runs in online mode.

Joining HarvestSeason takes about two minutes. The only things you need are Minecraft Java Edition on a PC, a genuine (premium) account, and the current IP and version from our website. Here’s the whole process.

Before you start: requirements

  • Minecraft Java Edition on a PC (Windows, macOS, or Linux). HarvestSeason is Java only — it does not work on Bedrock Edition, consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch), or mobile.
  • A genuine (premium) Minecraft account. The server runs in online mode, which verifies every account with Mojang/Microsoft. Cracked/offline accounts are rejected.
  • The correct game version, matching what the website lists (see Step 1).

Step 1: Get the IP and version from the website

We deliberately don’t hard-code the IP or version in the wiki — they can change, and the website is always current. So head to the website first:

  1. Go to playharvestseason.com.
  2. Open the /play page (or the /status page).
  3. Note two things:
    • The server IP / address (copy it exactly).
    • The required Minecraft version (e.g. a specific modern Paper version).

Keep that page open — you’ll need both pieces in a moment.

Step 2: Set your Minecraft to the right version

Your client version must match the server exactly. In the official launcher:

  1. Open the Minecraft Launcher and go to the Installations tab.
  2. Either pick an existing installation on the required version, or click New installation and select that version from the dropdown.
  3. Click Play to launch on that version.

If the right version isn’t in the dropdown, you may need to update — see Fixing “outdated client/server” errors for switching versions in the vanilla launcher, Prism, or Lunar.

Step 3: Add the server in your multiplayer list

  1. From the main menu, click Multiplayer.
  2. Click Add Server.
  3. Fill in:
    • Server Name: anything you like, e.g. HarvestSeason.
    • Server Address: paste the exact IP you copied from the website.
  4. Click Done.

You’ll now see HarvestSeason in your server list. A green connection bar means the server is reachable on your version; a red bar usually means a version mismatch or the server is offline — see Can’t connect troubleshooting.

Step 4: Join

Double-click the server entry (or select it and click Join Server). After a short loading screen, you’ll spawn into the central hub. Welcome to HarvestSeason!

Step 5: Your first few minutes

Once you’re in:

  1. Run /farm to claim your own private floating island. The server generates it and teleports you there. See Joining & your island.
  2. Grab your Harvester Tool. Use /tool if you don’t already have it — it’s the soulbound hoe you harvest with. See The Harvester Tool.
  3. Read the welcome book / starter chest on your island for a quick-start checklist and onboarding quests.
  4. Plant, wait, and hand-harvest your first mature crops to earn score. See Your first harvest.
  5. Use /hub (or /spawn) to return to the central hub anytime, and /farm to go back to your island.

Tips for a smooth first session

  • Read the rules with /rules in-game — fair play matters here, and automation never scores anyway.
  • Link your account to Discord for votes, rewards, and community features. See Linking your account.
  • Install a performance mod if your frame rate is low — Sodium or Fabulously Optimized are free and allowed. See Running on a low-end PC.
  • Bookmark the website for the live leaderboard, status, and the current Featured crop.

If you can’t connect

The two most common first-time problems are a version mismatch (your client doesn’t match the server) and a typo in the IP. Both are quick fixes:

  • Re-check the version on the website against your launcher.
  • Re-copy the IP exactly, with no extra spaces.

For a full diagnostic checklist, see Can’t connect troubleshooting.

FAQ

What's the server IP?

The live IP is always shown on the website at playharvestseason.com (the /play or /status page). We point you there rather than hard-coding it here so you always get the current address.

Can I join on Bedrock, console, or mobile?

No. HarvestSeason is Java Edition only. It does not support Bedrock (Windows 10/11 app, consoles, phones). You need Minecraft Java Edition on a PC.

Do I need a paid Minecraft account?

Yes. The server runs in online mode, so you need a genuine (premium) Minecraft Java account. Cracked/offline accounts cannot connect.

What version do I need?

Whatever version the website lists as required. The server runs a modern Paper version, and your client must match it exactly. Check the website for the current number.
