The player's guide to our Discord

TL;DR

Join from the /discord link, link your account so the bot mirrors your in-game rank as a Discord role, pick the notification roles you want in

The HarvestSeason Discord is where the community lives between harvests — server news, the live status board, the achievements feed, and the bot that ties your Discord identity to your in-game one. You never need it to play, but it’s where you’ll catch events, follow the season, and find your way to help fastest.

One thing to know up front: the Discord is a social hub, not a help desk. Applications, appeals, bug reports, player reports, expungements, suggestions, polls, and support tickets all live on the website now — it’s faster and everything stays tracked. The Discord’s slash commands are quick shortcuts that link you straight to the right page.

Joining

Get the official invite one of two safe ways:

  • In-game: run /discord — it links straight to the official server.
  • Website: use the Discord link in the site navigation (the /discord redirect).

Only trust invites from /discord in-game or the official website. Invites posted elsewhere may lead to impersonator servers — if a link didn’t come from those two places, don’t use it.

The single most valuable thing to do after joining is link your account so the bot recognizes you. Linking lets the bot:

  • Grant a Discord role that mirrors your in-game rank — your earned mastery rank or staff rank shows up as a managed Discord role automatically, and updates when your rank changes. If you’re a supporter, your supporter tier shows as its own role in addition to your rank role.
  • Tie your identity together so staff can help you faster and your profile resolves to one person.
  • Unlock staff applications — you must be reachable in the Discord to apply.

There are two ways to link, and you only need one:

  • From in-game: run /discord link in Minecraft to get a short code, then run /link code:<your-code> in the Discord. The bot connects the two and sets your Discord nickname to your Minecraft name.
  • From the website: sign in at /login with Discord or your Minecraft (Microsoft) account, then connect the other from /account — or verify in-game with a magic link.

The full walkthrough is in Linking your Discord & Minecraft and Linking your account. Only staff can disconnect a link — a deliberate anti-hijack safeguard.

Finding your way around

Channels are grouped into five clear categories.

📌 Information

Read-only, bot-authored embeds you can’t miss:

  • #welcome / #about / #how-to-vote / #links — what the server is, how it works, how to vote, and quick links to every website page.
  • #get-help — where to go for anything you need; it points you to the right website page.
  • #announcements / #changelog — server news and patch notes (staff-posted).

📊 Server

Read-only feeds the bot keeps current:

  • #server-status — a live, self-updating board: online/offline, player count, current season, featured crop, TPS, and the season-end countdown.
  • #game-feed — season news: season start/end, champion crowned, featured-crop rotations, big deliveries, records, and votes.
  • #achievements — milestones as they happen in-game: level-ups, mythic-crop drops, and personal records.
  • #featured — the best community screenshots, promoted from #media by the starboard (see below).
  • #supporters — automatic thank-yous for supporters and donors.

🌾 Community

Where humans chat (the bot stays out of the way here):

  • #introductions / #general / #off-topic / #media — say hi, hang out, and post screenshots.
  • #bot-commands — the tidy place to run slash commands so they don’t clutter chat.
  • #roles — the notification-role picker (see below).
  • Voice: Cornfield Lounge, Tractor Cab, and Harvest Tunes.

🛡️ Staff and 🪵 Logs

Staff-only categories — the staff offices and the live in-game log feeds. You won’t see these as a regular member.

Notification roles (pick what you want pinged for)

Go to #roles and use the picker to opt into exactly the pings you care about. They’re all self-service — add or remove any time:

RolePinged for
AnnouncementsMajor server announcements.
Patch NotesUpdates and balance changes.
EventsContests, festivals, and special events.
Playtest PingsPlaytest sessions (if you’re a playtester).
Season PingsSeason start/end and the pre-wipe countdown.

When you join, the bot also greets you in #general and gives you the base Member role automatically.

Slash commands

The bot’s commands fall into two groups. Run them in #bot-commands to keep chat tidy — each replies privately.

Quick links to the website (the bot points you there; the page does the work):

CommandTakes you to
/applyWhitelist & staff applications.
/appealAppeal a ban or mute.
/bugreportReport a bug.
/reportReport a player.
/expungeRequest a punishment expungement.
/supportOpen a support ticket.
/suggestions · /pollsSuggest ideas and vote on community polls.
/wiki · /rules · /calculatorGuides, rules, and the sell calculator.
/leaderboard · /halloffame · /statusLive boards and server status.
/vote · /storeVote for rewards; grab a cosmetic supporter rank.
/staff · /news · /events · /play · /websiteThe rest of the site.

Utility:

CommandWhat it does
/link code:Finishes linking your account (pair with /discord link in-game).
/whoisLooks up a linked member’s Minecraft identity, rank, and standing.
/pingChecks the bot is responding.

There’s no /suggestion, /poll, /case, or /apply-form inside Discord any more — those moved to the website, and the commands above simply link you there.

Rank & supporter role sync

Once you’re linked, the bot keeps your roles current in the background — you never run anything to maintain them:

  • Your effective in-game rank (earned mastery rank, or staff rank if you’re staff) maps to one managed Discord role, and swaps automatically when your rank changes.
  • Your supporter tier (Patron / Benefactor / Luminary) shows as a separate role alongside your rank role, so a supporter keeps both.
  • The reigning season champion gets the champion role for the season.

If a role looks wrong, the usual cause is that your account isn’t linked — confirm with /discord linked in-game.

Sharing screenshots (the starboard)

Post your farm in #media. When a message collects enough ⭐ reactions, the bot promotes it to #featured — the server’s highlight reel. It’s the community’s way of voting up the best shots.

Getting help

For anything you can’t solve in-game, start at #get-help — it links to the right website page. All of these now live on the site:

  • Support tickets (gameplay, account, purchases): /contact — staff reply right there and you can follow the whole thread.
  • Ban / mute appeals: /appeal.
  • Bug reports: /bug-report. Report a player: /report. Expungements: /expunge.
  • Account-link problems? Only staff can disconnect a link (an anti-hijack safeguard), so open a support ticket if a link is wrong or compromised.

See Getting help & support for the full map of where each request goes.

Common mistakes

  • Skipping the link step. Without linking, the bot can’t give you your rank role or let you apply for staff. Link once and forget it.
  • Looking for intake in Discord. Applications, appeals, reports, suggestions and tickets are all on the website now — the slash commands just link you there.
  • Posting suggestions in general chat. Use the website’s /suggestions board so it’s tracked and reviewable — chat ideas get lost.
  • Using an unofficial invite. Only /discord in-game and the website link are safe.

FAQ

How do I join the Discord?

Use the /discord command in-game or the Discord link on the website. Both point to the official invite — don't trust invites from anywhere else.

Why should I link my account?

Linking lets the bot give you a Discord role that mirrors your in-game rank (and your supporter tier), ties your identity together so staff can help faster, and is required to apply for staff. Link once and it keeps paying off.

Where do I apply, appeal, or open a ticket?

Everything is on the website now. The Discord has quick slash commands like /apply, /appeal, /bugreport, /report and /support that drop you straight onto the right page — the bot itself no longer handles intake.

How do I get pinged for announcements or events?

Go to the

Do I have to use Discord to play?

No. The server is fully playable without Discord. The Discord is for community, roles, live status and news — all optional but recommended.
