Quick answers to the questions every new HarvestSeason player asks — scoring, selling, season resets, ranking up, and why nothing here is pay-to-win.
New to HarvestSeason? Here are the questions almost everyone asks, answered fast. For your very first session, start with your first harvest.
Getting started
How do I start farming?
Join, get your island, and grab your Harvester Tool with /tool if you don’t already have one. Harvest mature crops by hand, then sell them. See your first harvest.
Where’s my farm?
Use /farm to go to your island and /hub to return to spawn. Your island is yours alone — this is a solo gamemode.
What tool do I harvest with? Only the soulbound Harvester Tool. There are no plain hoes for sale, and only the Harvester Tool scores. It’s kept on death and can’t be lost.
Score & balance
How do I earn score? By hand-harvesting mature crops. Only manual harvesting scores — water streams, hoppers, and villagers never do, by design. See score vs balance.
What’s the difference between score and balance? Score is your lifetime-this-season harvesting total that drives the leaderboard and only rises. Balance is spendable cash from selling that goes up and down. Spending balance never costs score.
How do I get more score per harvest? Farm the featured crop (it carries a score multiplier), buy Fortune and AoE Sweep for your tool, and harvest during Featured Rush events.
Selling & money
Where do I sell?
Run /sell (or /sell hand / /sell all), or use the sell GUI. Selling pays balance, not score. See selling.
Why did my crop sell for less than before? Diminishing returns — dumping lots of one crop lowers its price. Vary and pace your sales to keep values high.
Why did a mythic sell give me score instead of cash? That’s intentional. An authentic mythic crop is the one sell that adds flat score instead of cash.
What do I spend balance on?
The /shop — seeds, tool upgrades, build materials, boosters, and cosmetics. No real money, ever.
Ranks & progression
How do I rank up? The mastery ladder (Settler → Sprout → Farmhand → Grower → Cultivator → Agronomist → Harvest Master) is earned automatically from lifetime farming progress. Just keep harvesting. See mastery.
Are there other ranks? Yes — staff ranks (assigned), and cosmetic-only supporter ranks (Patron / Benefactor / Luminary). Supporter ranks are purely cosmetic.
What are divisions?
Percentile brackets over the leaderboard (/division) so you compete against players at your level, not just the top grinders. See divisions strategy.
Seasons & resets
What resets at season end? Scores wipe, islands reset, and the mythic secret rotates (voiding old mythics). Sell mythics before the reset. See seasons & resets.
What carries over? Your lifetime mastery rank and your Hall of Fame standing persist across seasons. Competitive score does not.
What’s prestige?
Season-end standing — a Hall of Fame entry and the champion [★] crown for top finishers. Earned, never bought. See prestige.
Fairness
Is this pay-to-win? No. Score comes only from hand-harvesting. Supporter ranks, cosmetics, crate keys, and medals give zero gameplay advantage — they’re cosmetic or convenience, never score.
Can I buy my way up the leaderboard? No. The shop spends balance, which never touches score. The only way up is harvesting.
Can I cheat with farms or duped mythics? No. Automation can’t score (structural, not detection-based), and forged mythics fail authentication and pay nothing.
Daily play & community
What should I do each day?
Claim your login key and streak, run /delivery and /quests, push free /pass tiers, /vote for keys, then grind the featured crop. See a daily routine for max score.
What are crates?
Reward chests opened with earned keys (login, votes, pass tiers) via /crate — they pay cash, boosters, or mythics, never direct score. See harvest crates.
Is there a Discord?
Yes — run /discord. Link your account for roles, suggest features, vote in polls, and get help. See the player’s guide to our Discord.
Where do I see the leaderboard and my profile?
On the website — /leaderboard, /player/<name>, /status, and more. In-game, use /top, /season, and /division.
